The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced that the existing UDIN portal will be migrated to the New UDIN Portal at the ICAI DigiCA Platform on 20 December 2025, with a brief downtime and a new mobile app to follow later in the month. This move aims to give members a smoother interface, better usability and additional features aligned with recent Council decisions. The existing UDIN portal at www.udin.icai.org will be available till the 19th of December, 2025.

New UDIN Portal

  • The UDIN portal is scheduled to shift to the ICAI DigiCA Platform on 20 December 2025, as part of a broader upgrade of ICAI’s digital ecosystem.
  • ICAI has indicated that the upgraded platform will come with an improved interface and enhanced functionalities to better support members’ day‑to‑day attest and certification work.

Planned downtime and its impact

  • To carry out the migration, the present UDIN portal will be unavailable for all UDIN‑related activities, including generation and verification, for about 24 hours starting midnight of 19 December 2025.
  • Members have been specifically advised to generate all required UDINs before this scheduled downtime so that reporting, filings and certifications due during the transition window are not disrupted.

Support on the new platform

  • A detailed user manual is proposed to be hosted on the new DigiCA‑based UDIN interface to guide members through the updated workflow, navigation and features.
  • This documentation is expected to cover step‑by‑step processes for generating, searching and validating UDINs in the revamped environment, easing the learning curve for practitioners and their staff.

ICAI Alert for CA Students 📢

While the new ICAI UDIN Portal tightens verification and compliance, ICAI has also made a major announcement on the CA Examinations scheduled for May 2026 .

If you are a CA student or mentor, this update is worth your attention.

Launch of the UDIN mobile app

  • The Institute will also introduce a dedicated UDIN mobile application for both iOS and Android devices on 30 December 2025, providing on‑the‑go access to key UDIN functionalities.
  • With this app, members should be able to generate and verify UDINs securely from their smartphones, which will be particularly useful for field visits, client meetings and time‑sensitive attest work.

Action points for members

  • Review upcoming assignments and ensure all likely UDIN requirements around 19–20 December 2025 are generated in advance, factoring in tax audit, bank certification and other statutory due dates.
  • After migration, familiarise yourself and your team with the DigiCA‑based interface and the official user manual, and plan to integrate the UDIN mobile app into your regular documentation workflow once it is released.
